The so-called "green checkpoint", where it exists, can be used by travelers crossing the border only when they do not possess goods subject to import duties. Otherwise, the "red checkpoint" is used, everything the passenger carries with him is declared and in the so-called shortened procedure goods worth up to three thousand euros are cleared at a single customs rate of 10 percent, which, with VAT and other taxes, makes up about 30 percent of the value of the goods.

In addition to personal luggage and medicines for personal use, up to 200 cigarettes, one perfume or a liter of alcoholic beverage can be brought into our country. Special permits are required for live animals, raw materials of animal origin, pets, as well as for plants and amateur radio stations. The prohibition applies without exception to weapons and ammunition, illegal substances, poisons and harmful substances, as well as pirated goods - plagiarism.

The limit for the amount of foreign currency from the country is 10,000 euros. The entry of money into the country is still unlimited, but all travelers are obliged to report the transfer of any amount above 10,000 euros both at the entrance and at the exit from the country, according to the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism.
