During the stay abroad, passports may serve as a proof of identity and citizenship of the Republic of Serbia of their holders. A passport can be used exclusively by the person to whose name it has been issued.

We ask you to look after your passport while staying abroad. In case of loss or damage of your passport you are advised to apply to the nearest diplomatic or consular mission of the Republic of Serbia.

The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Tunisia does not issue biometric passports for now. Citizens of the Republic of Serbia staying in the jurisdictional area of the Embassy who have not yet taken out a biometric passport, i.e. they have a passport in the FRY form, whose validity period expired on December 31, 2011, can be issued a travel document for going to Serbia, where they can submit a request for the issuance of a biometric passport in the police department according to their place of residence.

The aforementioned requests will be considered urgent and resolved in a shortened procedure. In order to submit the aforementioned request under the urgent procedure, it is necessary to contact the head of the department for administrative affairs in the competent police department, i.e. the station, and as proof of urgency, attach a passport in the FRY form and a residence permit in abroad in case it is not entered in the passport.
